House Bill 152

AN ACT TO PROHIBIT LEAVING A CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF NINE YEARS UNATTENDED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE; TO PROVIDE A PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1.  Any person who leaves a child under the age of nine (9) years unattended in a motor vehicle shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined Fifty Dollars ($50.00).

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2005.
